Who we are
Amara Feeds, a nonprofit corporation organized in Missouri, 1200 Cherry Street, Suite 410, Kansas City, MO 64106. Our privacy contact is hello@amarafeeds.org.
What we collect
- When you donate: name, email, state, the amount and date, and any dedication you add.
- Payment details: handled entirely by PayPal. Card numbers never reach our servers and we can't see them.
- When you contact us: whatever's in the message, plus your name and email.
- When you visit: anonymous, aggregated page statistics. No cross-site tracking, no advertising cookies, no data broker pixels.
Why we hold it
To process your gift and send your receipt, to meet the record-keeping and charitable solicitation requirements that apply to us, and to send you the quarterly report if you asked for it. You can withdraw from the mailing at any time without affecting anything else.
What we will never do
- Sell, rent, trade or exchange your details with another organization — including other nonprofits. Donor list exchange is common in American fundraising. We don't do it.
- Pass your data to advertisers or data brokers.
- Telephone you to ask for more money.
- Add you to a mailing list you didn't check a box for.
How long we keep it
Donation records for seven years, which is the retention period our auditors require. Contact messages for two years. Mailing list details until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a suppression record only, so we don't accidentally add you back.
Your rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have statutory rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We honor those requests from every donor regardless of where you live, because maintaining two standards is more work than maintaining one.
Email hello@amarafeeds.org and we'll respond within forty-five days. We don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you're welcome to confirm that with us. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Children
This site isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Cookies
This site sets one functional cookie to remember whether you've dismissed a notice. We use privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics that record page views without identifying you. There are no advertising or social tracking cookies here. PayPal sets its own cookies when you use the payment button; those are governed by PayPal's privacy policy.
State charitable registration
We're registered to solicit contributions in the states that require it. Several states require specific disclosures, and financial information filed with those states is available from them on request. Registration in any state does not imply endorsement.
