A monthly gift is worth about three one-off ones.

Not because it's bigger, but because it's predictable. A kitchen can buy grain at harvest prices instead of hungry-season prices — about 19% cheaper for the same food — when it knows what's coming. A third of our revenue is monthly. We'd like it to be half.
